Division by Folding (In Three)
Sometimes we need to use precise geometric operations to construct a shape or determine where a point should be. Sometimes the answer is as simple as folding a piece of string.
Scroll down to step through the instructions.
01. Start with a length of string or rope.
02. Fold the two ends of the string or rope over one another.
02. If using string, pinch the two ends and pull them outwards until you are caught by the loop of string.
If using rope, hold the ends in your hands or tie them to sticks or tools. Pull outwards until you are caught by the loop of rope.
